Most Dependable

So, in high school, my senior year, I was voted "Most Dependable," a title many would be shocked to hear about me at 31. In an attempt to reclaim my "title," here I am posting twice in 3 days! Hold on to your seats - we're rolling now.

A house update... Weeks ago, it was just dirt. Now, it looks like this:

View of the kitchen from the dining room doorway - through the arches to the right is the family room. Kitchen table will go in front of the french patio doors and the window to the left. The "bar" cabinet/countertops will be under the short arches to the right.

View of the kitchen from the french patio doors (see picture above) - no flash, just natural light. Sink will be under the window to the right, then to the left is the pantry, then the refrigerator, then the arch (to the dining room), then a cabinet, then the stove, then another cabinet - small island in the middle.

From the right - the arch to the dining room, then the cabinets on either side of the stove/oven, then another arch, then more counter tops and cabinets underneath that "they're" calling a bar, but there will be no countertop extension.

The family room from the kitchen - Ava's car seat is on the floor to the left. The fireplace will be stone like the front of the house, but it will only go up half the wall to the mantle (right below the plug above the fireplace).
The wall in the family room that is the future home of Brent's big screen tv. Apparently the workers already use the "bar" for their food. Hope they leave some for us.
Brent and Dr. Teague still have not agreed upon a final contract, but Brent said they will. It makes me nervous to by a house with no contract in place...
What else... Ava's 6 month appointment was yesterday, and she weighs 13 pounds, 13 ounces and meausres 26.5 inches long - our petite little girl. We went to the Dallas World Aquarium today (why does everything have to be so dramatic? - world aquarium, world champions (except that US teams are the only competitors)). Oh yeah, the DWA has animals from around the world, so that is acceptable. Anyway, we had fun - we went with some residents here as an event, and it was great. $17/adult great? Hmm...maybe if your child is really into fish, etc. Ava was too young (of course) to enjoy anything more than the kids in summer day camps we saw there, but at least it was air conditioned. :)
One last random thought that my college friends will appreciate. Brent was going through a box of old stuff from Tech the other day ("Study Breaks" covers he kept because of all the "hot chicks" in the picture) and found the greek phone book from 1994 - our pledge year. It was fun to look at, and what amazed me was looking at the Farmhouse pledge class picture and seeing so many of our husbands in it - literally the majority of that class still keep in touch and see each other regularly. It amazed me. We are so blessed, and in many ways, live in such a bubble. Yeah us. :)
**PLEASE EXCUSE the mammoth last paragraph. I have tried and tried and tried to space it out, but Blogger won't let me publish it spaced.

Maybe most dependable, but certainly not most punctual! ;)

Your new house looks like it's going to be beautiful! We can't wait to see it!

Can't wait to see the new house. We are so blessed that we see each other so often.
